“Some people are born to make great art and others are born to appreciate it. Don’t you think? It is a kind of talent in itself, to be an audience, whether you are the spectator in the gallery or you are listening to the voice of the world’s greatest soprano. Not everyone can be the artist. There have to be those who witness the art, who love and appreciate what they have been privileged to see.”—Ann Patchett | Bel Canto (via blogut)
Answer to Huygen cause it says ‘request denied’ when I try to respond!!
Hmmhmm words that make me feel best about myself would probably be someone telling me I’ve helped them in some way or done something well. Also especially within a discussion something along the lines of “interesting point” just because I love getting into weird conversations and being able to articulate my ideas and prove myself in general.
“Very early on in writing the series, I remember a female journalist saying to me that Mrs Weasley, “Well, you know, she’s just a mother.” And I was absolutely incensed by that comment. Now, I consider myself to be a feminist, and I’d always wanted to show that just because a woman has made a choice, a free choice to say, “Well, I’m going to raise my family and that’s going to be my choice. I may go back to a career, I may have a career part time, but that’s my choice.” Doesn’t mean that that’s all she can do. And as we proved there in that little battle, Molly Weasley comes out and proves herself the equal of any warrior on that battlefield.”—J.K. Rowling, The Women of Harry Potter (via yerawizardharry)
